The PICO 3 was conceived and developed as a classical camera light for use with camcorders.
The PICO 3 offers one of the most economical ratios of illumination to power consumption.
The 10W HID bulb used in the PICO 3 is very rugged and, when used properly, can be
operated for more than 1000 hours without loss of color temperature. The integrated electronic ballast ist
extremely efficient and ensures a maximum in reliability while keeping power consumption at an absolute minimum.
This efficiency is exemplified in the fact that, even after long, continuous operation, the temperature
on the outside of the housing of the PICO 3 never exceeds 50° C. Filter and color gels
are spared exposure to high temperatures.
With a maximum power consumption of 12W, the PICO 3 can be used
economically on a camcorder without an additional power source. Because of its wide input voltage range
from 7.2 – 16.8VDC, it can even be powered from a single DV / HDV battery.
Finally, the focus ratio of 3:1 completes the list of advantages which includes better economics,
longer life expectancy and a greater efficiency of illumination.
